Little Boxes

Big Boxes

For the most recent incarnation of my site, I’ve decided to create a theme that looks like paint samples. Basically, as the eye travels horizontally across the page, one should notice a darkening in the shade of the elements on the page, and as the eye travels vertically, a change in the hue. To achieve this effect, I wrote this JavaScript class, which sadly only seems to work in Firefox at the moment. If you have the chance, check out a more straightforward implementation of the “Little Boxes” theme; just be sure to resize your browser window.

This theme isn’t close to being finished, but when it is, I hope to distribute it as a WordPress theme, assuming someone would want to use it; we shall see.

“Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes made of ticky-tacky.
Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes all the same.
There’s a green one and a pink one,
And a blue one and a yellow one,
And they’re all made out of ticky-tacky,
And they all look just the same.”
